Em abril de 2023 fui convidado pelo Parque Terras Altas pra registrar seu espaço, suas acomodações e atmosfera. A ideia era suprir uma necessidade de apresentação da hotelaria pré-reserva, ambientando o futuro hóspede no clima do espaço, tendo cultura e arte dois pilares fundamentais dos donos.
Durante dois dias percorri cada metro quadrado do parque, fotografando seus ângulos e suas belas paisagens. Eu já havia estado no espaço meses antes, na virada do ano, e tinha me apaixonado pela angulação do terreno, pelo vale que corta a vista, pelo contraste da vegetação e o céu e pela arquitetura dos chalés que se empoleiram em diagonal.

In April 2023, I was invited by my dear friends Graça and Elpídio, owners and creators of Parque Terras Altas, to capture their space, its accommodations, and its atmosphere. The idea was to meet the need for a visual presentation of the hotel experience before booking, immersing future guests in the essence of the place—where culture and art stand as fundamental pillars for its owners.
For two days, I explored every square meter of the park, photographing its angles and breathtaking landscapes. I had already visited the space months earlier, over New Year's, and had fallen in love with the terrain’s slopes, the valley cutting through the horizon, the striking contrast between the vegetation and the sky, and the architecture of the chalets perched along the diagonal of the hillside.
Durante o registro das fotos, algo me fez deixar a câmera de vídeo rodando, enquanto encontrava os ângulos, as terminações de terreno e as saliências da vegetação rasteira e das árvores na paisagem.
O processo em si teve o desafio de não só trabalhar com o cérebro para a fotografia estática mas para a fotografia de vídeo, que por mais correlatas que pareçam - e sejam - têm suas diferenças e suas contraposições relevantes. Me dividir foi preciso.

As I captured the photos, something compelled me to let the video camera roll—while I searched for angles, traced the land’s contours, and observed the way the low vegetation and trees emerged from the landscape.
The process itself carried the challenge of not only working with a photographer’s eye for still images but also adapting to the language of moving images. Though photography and videography may seem—and indeed are—closely related, they hold distinct nuances and opposing demands. I had to split myself between the two.
